Authorize:  account identifiers and their effect on CC access

The different account types don’t have any affect on what courses they can see for Roster/Grade Entry.  It is designed for certain accounts to have a different level of override when enrolling students in classes utilizing different account_type$DFLT_ACCESS logicals.

The identifiers granted to an account control what courses the account can see in Roster/Grade Entry.  To grant someone access to a course, the identifiers granted must match either the data in the field GROUPID or OWNERID.

Therefore, if  your GROUPID field overlays the field DEPARTMENT in the COURSE file, you could grant identifiers for all departments to an account.

On your system, there are 6 different values in the field GROUPID: BU, ED, HU, NS, SS, TH.  So you could grant those 6 identifiers to an account for that account to be able to run rosters/grade entry for those courses.

Subject: CC question: academic dean needs to see all rosters

This is his account.  My CC notes indicate if he has account=DEAN then he should be able to see all rosters, not just the ones he is teaching.

We also have:

SYSMGR>sho log *dean*

(LNM$SYSTEM_TABLE)

  "DEAN$DFLT_ACCESS" = "1852"

And:

SYSMGR>sho log reg$adv*

(LNM$SYSTEM_TABLE)

  "REG$ADVISORS" = "STUDENT"

        = "ADVISOR"

        = "DEAN"

I need to know what’s missing.  I want reg_deanacad to have access through CC to all rosters.

He does have a leading zero in his ssn; that’s why I have granted two identifiers.
