Joanne, here’s info
for when the printer needs repair. Gale knows, also, in the event Help
Desk is ever called upon to help when I’m not
available.
The repair
number is 1.800.633.3600
You’ll connect
to an automated menu.
1. Dial
1.800.633.3600
2. Wait
for menu prompt, then press “1” (log new repair
request)
3. Press
“2” (hardware)
4.
Say: “printing”
5.
Say: “List more products”
6.
Say: “impact printers”
7.
Say: “dfx 5000 plus” (model number)
8. Wait
for person to answer. Be ready to describe Serial Number (IMW00469777) and
nature of problem. You need to be near the printer in case they ask you to
try different maneuvers.
9. Tell
them your name and who the contact person is for the call. This will be
the person the tech will look for when he/she
arrives.
10. Write down
the Case Number given to you. You’ll need this if you need to call
back.
The tech will
call and arrange site visit; pls plan to be there when they call, or plan for
someone else to be available to direct the tech to the hardware. It’s a
good idea to let everyone in your office suite know when the tech will be
coming.
When the tech
declares the hardware fixed, run it through its paces to confirm that it’s
working properly.
