GIVING STATUS ACCESS TO APPROVER IN DPS

The configuration file which governs which approver can see which accounts is called STATUS_SECURITY.COM.  It resides in the FIS module.

$ DIR USERS:[FISCAL.EXE]STATUS_SECURITY.COM

Directory SYS$SYSDEVICE:[FISCAL.EXE]

STATUS_SECURITY.COM;47

If you need to make changes, edit the file.

$ EDIT USERS:[FISCAL.EXE]STATUS_SECURITY.COM

After the edit box opens, use F4, COMMAND, FIND to locate the username you want to modify.

Add the additional account(s) you wish the approver to access.  The last line of account numbers has no comma; all preceding lines of account numbers must end in ",".  In this example "1556" has been added to the accessible accounts for dps_maint1 username.  Notice that the object codes are omitted; this gives access to ALL 1556 account numbers.  If you do not intend to give such full access, you must enter all individual account numbers, including object codes.

When you are finished with all modifications, <cntrl z> to "exit and save changes."

If you do not wish to save the changes, use f4, "command," QUIT.
