FALL/SPRING 2004/2005-SGU Support Option Form for Returning Students.

 

Students who have previously registered a laptop for two (2) years are eligible to have continued support from the SGU Help desk for their laptop.  All returning students who wish to obtain support from the help desk must choose one of these options.

Students who have not previously registered for 2 years are not eligible for this support.

 

Options available are:

 

1.       A student may choose a “pay as you go” option and pay for Help Desk services only as needed at the current Help Desk hourly rate for SGU approved and installed software* and SGU campus network support.  Currently, the Help Desk hourly software and campus network support rate is $55.00 per hour.  Hardware support is additional to this rate and does not include parts costs, shipping, and other costs that are incurred with regard to any repair.

 

2.      A student may choose to purchase a service contract at the current Help Desk yearly service rate.**  This contract is for SGU approved and installed software* and SGU campus network support.  Again, hardware support is not included with this service option and is additional at the hourly rate.

 

3.      A student may choose to purchase a new computer or upgrade their existing computer so that it will meet the current school year’s specifications.  These computers could then be registered or re-registered with the Help Desk and the student will receive free software and network support for another two years. Again, hardware support is not included with this option and is additional at the hourly rate.

 

 All service provided with each option is during normal Help Desk operating hours.

 *SGU approved software support is for SGU Help Desk installed software.  Currently, this includes Microsoft Office Professional, and Microsoft FrontPage.  **The yearly support contract is $110.00 and is non-pro-rated. Check with the help desk for service contract pricing and details.
